Hi and welcome to our blog!

We are Julia and L.J., a couple of former business professionals who decided that the lifestyle we were living was not right for us. We sold all of our belongings, purchased a sailing catamaran and learned how to sail.

We explored the Western Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Cape Verde Islands before sailing across the Atlantic Ocean to see what the Caribbean had in store for us.

After sailing around the Eastern Caribbean for a couple of years, we decided to make another change. We purchased our dream boat, a Tayana 37. A monohull.

Yep, that’s right!

We went from catamaran to monohull!

Yes, we know the saying, “Once you go cat, you never go back.” 

But we did. And we are planning to share our story with you, letting you in on why we made that decision, the ups and downs along the way, and the realities of such a drastic change.
